How to insert rear wheel chrome inserts in a XVS650A
Wichtig ! / Important !
Um überhaupt an die Drag Star Classic das Hinterrad Chrom Scheiben einzubauen,
muss als erstes das Motorrad aufgebockt werden,
anschließend wird das Hinterrad samt Kardangetrieb ausgebaut.
Before you even consider inserting chrome wheel inserts into theDrag Star Classic,
firstly the bike must be raised from the floor in such a way as to be :
a) totally stable and b) so you can get at the rear wheel.
The rear wheel mus be removed together with the drive shaft !

Diversen Ring und Gabel Schlüsseln
Ein Satz Imbus Schlüsseln
Eine Ratsche und divers Nüsse
Loctite Schrauben Festiger (mittelstark)

You must have lifting gear to lift the whole bike !
A GOOD selection of spanners
A set of METRIC Allen Keys
A Socket Wrench and a selection of METRIC Sockets
Medium Strength Screw Glue (Loctite)
Wie wird es gemacht ? / OK, so how is it done ?
1. Eine Scheibe wird auf ein Tuch hingelegt, Innenseite nach oben.
Die Abstandsstifte werden jeweils mit zwei/drei Tropfen Sekunden-Gel-Kleber, jeweils am Ende gepunket.
Das klebrige Ende DIREKT über ein Schraubenloch auf die Scheibe setzten, kurz andrücken - und stehen lassen.
1. Lay the valve side insert face down on a soft cloth, (inside facing up).
Using fast action gelly glue, place two spots of glue on one end of each spacer.
Place the STICKY end DIRECTLY over a bolt hole, press tightly and LEAVE it alone.
2. Nachdem alle Stifte gesetzt worden sind muss der Kleber eine weile trocknen lassen.
2. After you have positioned all the spacers, leave to dry.
3. In der Zwischenzeit kann das Motorrad aufgebockt werden, Bremse aushängen,
Kardan Getriebe aus dem Rahmen lösen (4 Schrauben).
Bremsanker lösen.
Achse lösen, Rad nach hinten rausziehen (Vorsicht ganz schön schwer).
Rad reinigen und Zerlegen.
Achse Rausziehen, Kardangetriebe und Bremse abbauen.
Moped von innen Putzen (sehr gute Gelegenheit).
3. In the meantime, you can lift the bike and disconnect the rear brake,
and loosen the drive gearbox from the frame (4 bolts).
Remove the brake anchor.
Loosen the Axle, pull the wheel togther with the drive shaft out of the frame ( Careful, fairly heavy ! ).
Clean the wheel.
Remove the Axle, drive gear box and the brake.
Now is a very good time to clean the inside of the bike frame.
4. Die Scheibe, samt Stiften in das Rad eindrücken.
Rad hinlegen - Stifte schauen nach oben.
4. Press the valve side inset into the wheel, taking care not to konock off any of the spacers,
Lay the wheel down - the spacers are showing through the spikes !
5. Die zweite Scheibe genau aufsetzen und fest andrücken.
Die Schrauben einzeln von unten durchführen und die Muttern ganz locker drauf drehen.
Rad senkrecht aufstellen, die Muttern einzeln wieder entfernen, mit Loctite füllen und wieder leicht aufziehen.
Die Schrauben - über Kreuz - Fest Anziehen.
5. Place the second insert directly over the spacers and press it firmly in place.
Insert the bolts from below and turn the nuts loosly on to the bolts.
Stand the wheel up, remove the nuts - one at a time - fill the nuts with loctite glue and replace them on the bolts.
Tighten the nuts - diagonally -
6. Alles wieder zusammen bauen, in umgekehrte Reihenfolge:
Bremse, Kardangetriebe, Rad, Bremsanker usw . . . . .
6. Put everything - in reverse order - back together again:
Brake, Transmission, Wheel, Brake Anchor etc . . . . .
PS Sekunden Kleber flecken kann man mit ACETON (Apotheke) vorsichtig entfernen
Spots of quick drying glue can be removed with ACETON (available at your local chemist)
